Lis Sjöberg is a Lecturer in occupational therapy at Örebro University's School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences. Since 2021, she serves as Head of the Unit for Activity and Health while actively researching in the Research Enabling an Active Life (REAL) environment and the Treatment of limb deficiencies or amputation (TUMA) group. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research, focusing on congenital limb reduction deficiencies (CLRD).
Educated at Örebro University, she holds a PhD in Medical Science (specializing in Health Care Sciences) and a Master's in Occupational Therapy. Her research emphasizes long-term outcomes of healthcare interventions for children with CLRD, parent decision-making roles, and prosthetic efficacy assessment. Key projects include translating/validating the Prosthetic Upper Limb Functional Index (PUFI) and studying parental experiences in treatment decisions.
Teaching focuses on pediatric occupational therapy and professional development, with roles as former Programme Coordinator and course coordinator. She supervises student projects and develops research-informed pedagogy. Current research integrates clinical and technological perspectives on upper limb prostheses and evaluates child-centered habilitation strategies.
