Helen Jane Edwards is a Lecturer in Primary Education specializing in Welsh Second Language at the School of Education and Human Development, Bangor University. She serves as the Admissions Officer for the BA(QTS) and BA(SAC) programs and contributes to multiple teacher education courses including PGCE and FDA programs.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on bilingual education, language development, and the promotion of Welsh as a second language in educational settings. She has developed resources to support staff in using 'Cymraeg Bob Dydd' (Incidental Welsh) and advises Welsh Language Coordinators in partner schools.
Leadership and Service: She is an active member of the Cynllun Colegau Cymru committee and has held prior leadership roles such as Deputy Head of Pastoral Care and Head of Faculty. She has also served as a mentor and coordinator for bilingualism, curriculum, and transition planning between key stages.
Teaching: She teaches across a range of programs: BA(QTS), BA(SAC), PGCE (3–7, 7–11, Secondary), and FDA courses.
