Meinir Williams is a Lecturer in Phonetics and Bilingualism at Bangor University’s School of Arts, Culture and Language. She also served as a Research Officer at Canolfan Bedwyr and a Welsh Language Access and Foundation Tutor. Her research focuses on sociophonetics, particularly the linguistic experiences of adult New Speakers of Welsh, pronunciation, and the development of bilingual synthetic voices for children.
Education:
- BA in Welsh and French, Bangor University (completed 2018).
Research Interests:
Her work explores sociophonetic dimensions of Welsh language revitalization, including accent perception, language technology applications, and neurodiversity’s role in bilingualism. She collaborates on projects like synthetic voice development for Welsh speakers and investigates language exposure among adult learners.
