Dr. Sarah Cooper is a Lecturer at the School of Arts, Culture and Language, Bangor University. Her research focuses on Welsh phonetics, bilingualism, and language technologies for under-resourced languages, particularly how adults learn Welsh sounds. She leads the MSc Language Technologies program and collaborates with the Language Technologies Unit in Canolfan Bedwyr. Her work includes developing the Paldaruo Speech Corpus, a key resource for Welsh speech technology.
- Teaches phonetics, bilingualism, and second language phonetics/phonology.
- Supervises PhD students and has published extensively on Welsh linguistics, speech technology, and bilingualism.
