Dr. Helen Grime is a Senior Lecturer in Drama at the University of Winchester, specializing in theatre historiography, women in theatre, and late-nineteenth/twentieth-century British theatre. She holds a PhD and has fifteen years of higher education teaching experience. Her career includes roles in publishing (Penguin Books), literary management (Orange Tree Theatre), and fringe theatre (Tremor Cordis, Centre Forward).
Research & Projects: Co-founded The Tempest Club (2009–2017), a collaborative performance project with Platform 4 theatre company. Expert judge for the 10x10 playwriting competition. Authored Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies: Twentieth-Century Actress (Routledge, 2013) and contributed to journals like Shakespeare and NTQ.
Supervision & Grants: Supervises research on theatre historiography, women’s performance, and verbatim theatre ethics. Led the Arts Council-funded Nora & I (2008), a devised theatre project.
Affiliations: Member of The Society for Theatre Research and UniCo. Active in academic discourse on suffragette playwrights, feminist theatre, and Shakespearean performance.
