Heidrun Åm

Heidrun Åm is a Professor at the Department of Sociology and Political Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), working at the intersection of political science, sociology, critical policy studies, and science and technology studies. Her research focuses on governance of new technologies, contributing to debates about science and society, responsibility in research, risk regulation, and democratization of technology.

Her research interests span biotechnology, digitization, health data, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, farmed salmon, and technology-society relationships. She combines exploratory empirical approaches with conceptual contributions to sociological theory.
