Heidi M. Parker

Dr. Heidi M. Parker is Associate Professor of Sport Management at the University of Southern Maine School of Business and Department Chair of Business Administration. Her research examines sport consumer behavior with focus on factors influencing fan attitudes, sponsorship effectiveness, and gender issues in sports. Awarded the 2015 Faculty Senate Award for Scholarship.

Her publications investigate gender expression impacts on athlete endorsements, organizational factors affecting women coaches, and experiential learning in sport management education. Current projects analyze internship practices in sports management programs and barriers facing female sports professionals.

Dr. Parker teaches courses covering Sport Law, Finance, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing. She previously taught at Syracuse University and maintains professional memberships with NASSM and the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport.
