Heidi Jacobe

Dr. Heidi Jacobe is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She holds multiple leadership roles including Director of Phototherapy Services, Associate Director of the Center of Translational Medicine's Education & Career Development Programs, and Course Director for Clinical Research Design courses. Her primary clinical focus is morphea/scleroderma management and phototherapy for inflammatory skin conditions. She oversees dermatology rotations for medical students and serves as Associate Residency Director.

Dr. Jacobe’s research centers on morphea pathogenesis, phototherapy efficacy, and quality-of-life impacts in skin disorders. She leads the Morphea in Adults and Children (MAC) cohort studies, investigating genetic, histopathological, and clinical aspects of the disease. Her work explores biomarkers like CXCL9 for disease activity and evaluates treatment outcomes through cohort analyses.

Administratively, she coordinates the Dean's Research Scholar Program, NIH CTSA TL1 Fellowship, and medical student education initiatives. Her translational research bridges clinical practice and academic training, emphasizing evidence-based protocols for dermatological conditions.
