Rebecca Vasquez

Rebecca Vasquez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is a board-certified general dermatologist specializing in autoimmune skin disorders, including lupus and localized scleroderma. Since joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015, she has also served as Assistant Chief of Service of Dermatology at Parkland Health and Hospital System. Dr. Vasquez has been honored with the Department of Dermatology’s Outstanding Teacher Award in both 2016 and 2017.

Dr. Vasquez’s academic background includes:

• B.S. in Biology (magna cum laude), University of Texas Pan American (2005)
• M.D., UT Southwestern Medical Center (2009)
• Internship in Internal Medicine, Tulane University (2010)
• Residency in Dermatology, UT Southwestern Medical Center (2013)

Her research focuses on autoimmune skin diseases, particularly exploring:

• Autoantibody profiles in lupus erythematosus subtypes
• Clinical and immunological aspects of morphea
• Phototherapy efficacy and recurrence patterns in localized scleroderma
• Quality of life in patients with chronic dermatological conditions
