Heidi E. M. Dobson is the Spencer F. Baird Professor of Biology at Whitman College, serving as Director of the Anderson Herbarium (WCW) and the Whitman Teaching Greenhouse, and Chair of the Biology Department. She holds offices in the Hall of Science 201 and can be reached at 509-527-5141.

- M.S. in Entomology, University of California, Davis (bee biology)
- Ph.D. in Botany, University of California, Berkeley (pollenkitt lipids and flower selection)
Her research focuses on the evolutionary ecology of plant-animal interactions, particularly bee-flower associations and pollination. She investigates floral traits influencing bee behavior through chemical, behavioral, and anatomical studies. Collaborative projects span Sweden, Spain, Israel, and Austria, including organizing the Gordon Research Conference on Floral Scent. She mentors student research in Sweden and the Pacific Northwest, with 60+ Whitman students participating in her fieldwork since 1994.
