Heidi Bertram Plach

Heidi Bertram Plach is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), specializing in mental health and rehabilitation. With over two decades of clinical experience since 2000, she focuses on community mental health practice, advocacy, and group occupational therapy.

• Current roles include Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and service on UWM's Veteran’s Advisory Council
• Expertise in mental health needs of veterans, family impacts of mental illness, and healthcare career education

Her research centers on improving occupational performance for veterans and addressing mental health through service-oriented clinical practices. Plach also emphasizes community partnerships, such as collaborations with Dryhootch and NAMI, to enhance student training. She contributes to campus life by mentoring freshmen in healthcare adjustment (UWM’s Healthcare LLC) and engaging occupational therapy alumni.
