Heeyoung Lee

Dr. Heeyoung Lee serves as Associate Professor and Department Chair of Health & Community Systems at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and designated Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), her clinical expertise centers on serious mental illness interventions and health promotion for vulnerable populations.

Dr. Lee's research integrates clinical expertise with data science to develop real-world interventions for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), particularly focusing on accelerated aging and chronic disease prevention. Her innovative work employs electronic health record (EHR)-based predictive modeling to identify cardiometabolic risks in SMI populations, advancing precision health strategies through population health perspectives and implementation science.

Dr. Lee provides extensive service as Associate Editor of Archives of Psychiatric Nursing and through leadership roles in the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association, where she chairs awards and finance committees at national and international levels.
