Heather Eggins is a Visiting Professor at Staffordshire University's Institute for Education Policy Research and the University of Sussex, and holds senior membership at Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge. She serves part-time as a Lecturer in Education. Her research focuses on higher education policy, access equity, globalization's impact on education systems, and postgraduate education trends. Eggins has held significant roles, including Director of the SRHE (a UNESCO NGO) and consultant to UNESCO, alongside editing influential works like Access and Equity: Comparative Perspectives (2010) and Drivers and Barriers to Achieving Quality in Higher Education (2014).
Her Fulbright New Century Scholar award (2005/2006) supported research on 'Higher Education in the 21st Century,' culminating in comparative studies on global access challenges. Her work bridges policy analysis, institutional transformation, and global educational equity. Recent publications explore quality assurance, diversity in higher education systems, and responses to systemic crises.
