Harry Sokol

Harry Sokol is a Professor (PU-PH HDR) at Sorbonne Université's Faculty of Medicine, where he co-leads the research team "Microbiote, Intestin et Inflammation" alongside Philippe Seksik. His research is hosted at the Faculté de médecine – Site Saint-Antoine in Paris and Hôpital St-Antoine. Dr. Sokol serves as the head of the "Immunologie et Inflammation" research axis, focusing on host-microbiota interactions in inflammatory bowel diseases.

Dr. Sokol's research interests center on understanding the complex dialogue between intestinal microbiota and host immunity, particularly in inflammatory bowel diseases (MICI) and auto-inflammatory diseases. His work explores how microbial metabolites, particularly those derived from tryptophan metabolism, influence host immune responses and intestinal barrier function. His team employs multidisciplinary approaches spanning cellular biology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical medicine to translate findings from bench to bedside.
