Harriet A.B. Tarlo is a Professor of Ecopoetry and Poetics at the Department of Humanities, Sheffield Hallam University, within the College of Social Sciences and Arts. She holds a PhD in English Literature focusing on modernist poet H.D. Her work bridges creative writing and critical research, emphasizing gender, environment/eco-criticism, experimentalism, and avant-gardism. Tarlo teaches modules like 'Writing and Environment' and 'Experimental Writing,' and supervises PhD/M.A. students in related fields. She collaborates with artist Judith Tucker on interdisciplinary projects exploring environmental themes, such as climate resilience and extinction. Notable projects include the AHRC-funded Hydrospheres network and the Royal Society-supported 'Every Bird a Nest.'
