Dr. Harm Goris is an Assistant Professor of Dogmatic Theology at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Catholic Theology, affiliated with the 'Texts in Contexts' group. He holds academic roles since 2001, including Lecturer in Systematic Theology and Coordinator of the Centre for Intercultural Ethics (2003–2006). His expertise spans dogmatic theology, with specializations in Thomas Aquinas, contemporary doctrine of God, and creation theology. He has extensive scholarly activities, including postdoctoral research in the Netherlands and the USA, and editorial roles in academic publications. His research integrates historical and systematic approaches, focusing on topics like predestination, original sin, and theological anthropology. He contributes to academic conferences, lectures internationally, and is a member of the Pontifical Academy Thomas Aquinas. Courses taught include Dogmatics, Ecumenics, and Theology of Liturgy.
His research interests emphasize medieval theological traditions, particularly Aquinas’ thought, and their relevance to modern theological discourse. Key themes include divine election, human nature post-fall, and Reformed scholastic theology. Recent work explores the interplay between medieval and post-Tridentine theological perspectives. He has authored and edited significant publications on Aquinas’ doctrines and 17th-century Reformed theology.
