Prof. Rudi te Velde is a Professor at the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology, Tilburg University. His research focuses on classical metaphysics, particularly the works of Thomas Aquinas, addressing modern philosophy’s loss of metaphysical inquiry. He also explores the meaning of religion in secularized societies. Key research interests include metaphysics, medieval philosophy, and theology, with emphasis on Aquinas’ doctrines of being, creation, and divine attributes.
Te Velde has authored over 130 publications, including articles, books, and edited volumes. His recent works analyze Aquinas’ views on divine simplicity, personhood, and moral theology, alongside critiques of transhumanism.
