Prof. Hans ter Steege is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Biology at Utrecht University's Faculty of Science. His research focuses on plant diversity mechanisms and tropical ecosystems, particularly the Amazon Rainforest. He leads the Amazon Tree Diversity Network, studying species composition, abundance patterns, and functional evolution in Amazonian forests.
