Prof. Dr. H. (Hans) ter Steege is a Professor at the Ecology and Biodiversity department within the Faculty of Science at Utrecht University. His research focuses on plant diversity in tropical ecosystems, particularly the Amazon rainforest, examining patterns and processes of species composition, relative abundance, and functional aspects through the Amazon Tree Diversity Network. He also teaches community ecology of tropical trees and contributes to sustainability research under the PtS - Science for Sustainability theme.
