Hannes Peltonen is a University Lecturer at Tampere University, affiliated with the Department of Management Studies within the Faculty of Management and Business. He holds a Doctorate in Social and Political Sciences from the European University Institute and is a Docent of Political Sciences (specializing in International Relations) from the University of Lapland.
His research focuses on International Political Theory, Constructivism, Pragmatism, Climate Change, the Anthropocene, Human Security, and Global Justice. He has authored books such as *International Responsibility and Grave Humanitarian Crises: Collective Provision for Human Security* (2013) and *Justifications of Inaction: Responsibility and Non-Intervention in Genocide*, exploring themes like collective responsibility, humanitarian intervention, and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) framework.
Recent publications emphasize planet politics, climate governance, and the intersection of theory with practice in international relations. His work bridges normative theory with empirical analysis, addressing global challenges like climate change and humanitarian crises through interdisciplinary approaches. Peltonen has received grants, including support from Kyung Hee University (2009), and actively supervises MA and PhD theses.
