Dr. Hannah Wright is a feminist researcher and academic holding multiple affiliations. She serves as a Research Officer at the LSE Centre for Women, Peace and Security, a Visiting Fellow at LSE's Department of Gender Studies, and a Seminar Tutor in King's College London's School of Education, Communication & Society (part of the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy). Her work bridges academia and policy, focusing on intersections of gender, race, class, and state violence in security policymaking.
Education: She earned an ESRC-funded PhD in Gender from LSE (2021), with a thesis examining how gendered and racialized norms shape UK national security policy through ethnographic research.
Research Interests: Dr. Wright's work centers on:
- Feminist critiques of militarism and coloniality
- Critical security studies
- Abolitionist feminisms and policing systems
- Disability justice frameworks
- Neoliberalism's impact on policy
Professional Experience: Prior to academia, she advised on gender and conflict issues for Saferworld, a peacebuilding NGO, and contributed to UK/Western Women, Peace and Security policy processes. She co-managed the Gender Action for Peace and Security UK network.
Teaching: At KCL, she teaches modules on Civil and Political Rights and Social Justice and Policy Analysis within the Social Sciences BA program.
