Hannah Copley is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Westminster, serving as Course Leader for the MA Professional Writing programs since 2019. She earned her BA in English and History, MA in English Literature, and PhD from the School of English at the University of Leeds, focusing on post-war poetics and archival writing.
- Research Interests: War poetry, eco-poetry, archival writing, medical humanities, feminist literature, and creative activism.
- Publications: Two poetry collections - Speculum (2021) and Lapwing (2024), the latter shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and awarded 2nd Prize in the 2024 Laurel Prize.
- Editorial Roles: Editor at Stand Magazine and former editor of Poetry and Audience.
- Teaching: Courses in poetry, creative writing, and supervises MA/PhD projects across humanities disciplines.
Her work explores historical trauma, environmental activism, and bodily experiences through poetic forms, combining archival research with contemporary creative practices.
