Dr. Hannah Britt is a Lecturer in Chemical Biology at the University of Leeds, affiliated with the Astbury Centre for Structural Molecular Biology and the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Her research bridges chemistry and biology, focusing on advancing mass spectrometry (MS) techniques to study dynamic protein interactions and disease mechanisms in native biological environments.
- Education: PhD and MSci from the University of Durham
- Postdoctoral Training: University College London (UCL) and University of Oxford
Research Interests center on using structural MS approaches to:
- Develop methods to study protein behavior in native environments
- Unravel biochemical pathways in human tissues/biofluids
- Investigate protein-glycan interactions in immune processes
- Enable real-time molecular analysis for disease diagnosis
Her work has implications for personalized medicine, drug discovery, and understanding disease heterogeneity. She teaches undergraduate courses in mass spectrometry, medicinal chemistry, and biological chemistry.
- Professional Memberships: Biochemical Society, British Mass Spectrometry Society
