Hanna Bennett is a Lecturer IV and Undergraduate Program Director in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Michigan. She earned her Ph.D. in Geometric Group Theory from the University of Chicago in 2009 under the advisorship of Benson Farb.
Her primary research interests focus on Mathematics Education and Geometric Group Theory. She specializes in developing innovative teaching methodologies, particularly through Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) approaches.
Dr. Bennett has extensive teaching experience across multiple mathematical disciplines, including:
- Coordinator for Calculus II (Math 116) and Co-coordinator for Calculus I (Math 115)
- Mathematics content courses for pre-service elementary teachers
- Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry
- Linear Algebra
- Elementary Mathematical Statistics
- Mathematics of Symmetry
