Hank Klibanoff is a Professor of Practice in Emory's Creative Writing Program. A veteran journalist, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, and Peabody Award-winning podcast host, he has over 35 years of experience at The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution where he served as managing editor.
He holds a BA in English from Washington University in St. Louis and an MA from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Klibanoff directs the Georgia Civil Rights Cold Cases Project, investigating unsolved racially motivated murders, and hosts the award-winning 'Buried Truths' podcast.
In 2021, President Biden nominated him to the Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board; he was confirmed by the Senate in 2022.
