Brent Glenn is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Theater Studies at Emory University and serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies. He is also the Resident Lighting and Sound Designer for Theater Emory. Previously, he held similar roles at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and Converse College, where he received teaching and creative achievement awards. Glenn is a co-founder of performance groups 2brents Mad Histrionics and Autumn Ghost Enterprises, and an original ensemble member of the Echota Performing Arts Festival.
Education: MFA from Louisiana State University and undergraduate studies at Brenau College. His creative works include original plays such as One Hour with 3 Lepers!? and The Anointing of Dracula, a book of poetry (The Dracula Poems), and publications in Catharsis Magazine and academic conferences. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
Research interests focus on theater design, sound engineering for performances, and experimental performance techniques. His creative output blends avant-garde theater with traditional dramatic forms, emphasizing immersive audience experiences. Recent work includes radio theater projects and horror-themed theatrical adaptations.
Awards include the South Carolina Independent Colleges Excellence in Teaching Award and the Scholarly and Creative Achievement Award. His professional contributions span academic theater production, educational curriculum design, and collaborative artistic ventures.
