Philip Brankin is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Theater Studies program at Emory University. He holds an MFA in Dramatic Media from the University of Georgia, specializing in media/projection design, and is completing a PhD in Theatre & Performance Studies there. His research focuses on technological interventions in performance and queer performance strategies within digital spaces.

Brankin's professional experience includes work with prominent institutions such as Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Second City, and About Face Theatre. He co-created the Lost & Found Festival of public/site-specific performances while working at Contact Theatre in Manchester, England. Currently, he collaborates on The Georgia Incarceration Performance Project, which engages incarcerated individuals and partners with Spelman, Morehouse College, and UGA Special Collections.
His creative practice bridges technology and queer performance, emphasizing community-driven projects and innovative uses of digital media in theatrical contexts.
