Steven J. Satta serves as Professor of Voice and Acting in Towson University's Department of Theatre Arts within the College of Fine Arts and Communication. He maintains an active presence in Baltimore's theater community through performance, direction, and dialect consultancy work while leading voice/acting pedagogy.

Professional Trajectory: Following 15 years of professional acting across Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theaters (National Actor's Theatre, Metropolitan Opera Company), and educational settings (ENACT, Theatre for a New Audience), Satta transitioned to academia. In Baltimore since 2000, he collaborates with Everyman Theatre, Olney Theatre, and Baltimore Shakespeare Festival while directing Towson's theatrical training programs. His career uniquely bridges commercial performance, community-based arts education, and scholarly pedagogy.
Institutional Leadership: As founding Artistic Director of Iron Crow Theatre Company, Satta established Maryland's premier LGBTQ+ theater organization, generating critical acclaim in The Baltimore Sun and WYPR while partnering with Broadway Impact for marriage equality advocacy. The company's charitable initiatives and media partnerships demonstrate his commitment to theater as social practice.
