Hani G. Melhem is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University, holding the Richard B. and Mary Jo Myers - Carl and Mary Ice Cornerstone Teaching Scholar position. He earned his Ph.D. and two M.S. degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, following a B.S. from Cairo University.
His research focuses on structural health monitoring, finite element modeling, fatigue analysis, and AI applications in infrastructure assessment. He originated the KSU Annual Bridge Design Workshop in 1993 and has led over $1.5M in research projects.
