Bill X. Zhang is a Professor and Don and Linda Glaser – Carl and Mary Ice Cornerstone Teaching Scholar in the Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science at Kansas State University. He joined K-State in 2011 and was promoted to full professor in 2023.
Education includes Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University (2004), D.E. in Structural Engineering from Southeast University, China (1998), M.E. (1994) and B.E. (1991) from Southeast University.
Research focuses on steel/composite structures, innovative structural systems for multi-hazard resilience, structural vibration mitigation, and cold-formed steel structures. His work on Reduced Beam Section connections contributed to AISC seismic standards.
