معرفی
Dr Hande Tunbak is a Research Fellow at Oxford Brookes University's School of Biological and Medical Sciences, specializing in the identification and characterization of genes responsible for rare eye abnormalities. She is also a visiting postdoctoral researcher in Professor Steve Wilson's lab at University College London (UCL), where she studies novel genetic interactions contributing to developmental eye defects using zebrafish modeling.
Her research integrates advanced methodologies such as gene editing, transgenesis, computational approaches, and high-resolution imaging techniques to explore the molecular basis of human eye development and neural circuitry pathways affected by social isolation in zebrafish. Key fields of interest include:
- Developmental Biology
- Neuroscience
- Molecular Genetics
- Genome Editing
- Zebrafish Research
- Translational Research
- Medical Imaging
Dr Tunbak's work is conducted within the Molecular Genetics of Human Eye Development group, focusing on bridging genetic discoveries with developmental biology to understand patient variability in eye defects. She completed her PhD on the impact of social isolation on zebrafish social behavior and neural circuits.
