Dr. Hanbin Zhang is a Visiting Researcher at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, with cross-affiliations in the Environmental Research Group, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Exposure Science, and the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Environmental Exposures and Health.
His research specializes in environmental health challenges in Low- and Middle-Income Countries, utilizing data science to investigate indoor air pollution dynamics, outdoor-to-indoor pollution ingress, source apportionment of exposure, geolocation-based exposure modeling, and health-environment co-benefit interventions. His work bridges exposure science, epidemiology, and public health policy.
Dr. Zhang leads key research initiatives including the AIRLESS project (Effects of AIR pollution on cardiopuLmonary disEaSe in Beijing residents, ongoing since 2016) and the MELONS study (Measurement Error consequences in Long-term exposure models in London), focusing on real-world health impacts of air pollution exposure errors.
He serves as Social Representative for the Researchers’ Society in the Medical Research Centre for Environmental Health and actively contributes to environmental health knowledge translation through the Environmental Research Group.
