Hamid Bahrami

Dr. Hamid Bahrami is Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Mississippi (UM) since 2024. Previously, he served as Professor and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies at the University of Akron's ECE department for seven years. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University (2008).

His research spans interdisciplinary domains including:

• Wireless systems design and optimization
• Signal processing algorithms for communications
• Security frameworks for networked systems
• Industrial IoT and smart infrastructure
• Machine learning applications in engineering

With industry experience at Wavesat Inc. (Marvell Technology), he led 4G wireless R&D for WiMAX/LTE standards. He maintains active IEEE involvement as Senior Member and editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications.
