Haley Farthing is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She teaches courses in 2D foundations, intermediate painting, and all levels of drawing.

Research interests include environmental relationships through drawing, visual contrast, wood grain and drawn image interplay, and light/dark dynamics. Her work emphasizes subtle aesthetic experiences and personal ecological impact.
