Gwyn Jones

Gwyn Jones is a Lecturer in Education at the School of Education, University of Wales, where he serves as the PGCE secondary mathematics tutor. He has a strong background in mathematics education, with extensive experience as a teacher, head of department, inspector, and educational consultant in both England and Wales. He is actively involved in teacher training, curriculum development, and educational research, particularly through the CaBan Initial Teacher Education Partnership.

His recent research includes supervising MA students on More Able and Talented learners and investigating girls’ maths anxiety and the role of literacy coordinators in secondary schools. He is currently pursuing an EdD, with preliminary findings presented at BERA 2017. His sole listed publication (2020) explores collaborative models in initial teacher education, highlighting partnerships between schools and universities in Wales.
