Gwenaëlle Reyt is a doctoral student in Urban Studies at the University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM), concurrently serving as a Lecturer teaching courses including Tourism and Gourmet Leisure and Terroir and Local Development.
Her research examines Montreal restaurants (1960–present) as catalysts for Quebec's culinary identity formation, with expertise spanning gastronomy, terroir studies, and tourism policy. She integrates urban heritage frameworks with gastronomic tourism to analyze how dining spaces shape cultural landscapes and community identity.
Reyt leverages industry experience as former head of gastronomy at Voir newspaper and food critic to bridge academic theory and practical policy development, notably contributing to Montreal's cultural policy framework through gastronomy-focused research.
