Dr. Guy Baron is a Senior Lecturer in Spanish at the Department of Modern Languages, Aberystwyth University, located in the Hugh Owen Building, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom. His research focuses on gender dynamics in Cuban cinema during the Revolution, masculinity and feminism in Cuba, and representations of gender in Spanish and Spanish American film. He has contributed to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to gender equality and cultural preservation.
Baron has published extensively on Cuban cinema history, including books like A Cultural History of the Cuban Revolution (2024) and chapters in edited volumes such as The Cinema of Cuba: Contemporary Film and the Legacy of the Revolution (2017).
