Magdaléna Matušková is an Assistant Professor in Spanish and Language & International Business at Clemson University's College of Arts and Humanities. She holds dual PhDs from UCLA (Hispanic Languages and Literatures) and Charles University (Latin American History), with additional degrees in Spanish Philology and International Relations. Her research focuses on Latin American history, Cuban cinema, and cultural exchanges between Latin America and Eastern Europe, particularly during the 1960s. She has extensive teaching experience across institutions including UCLA, University of Georgia, and Charles University, specializing in Spanish language instruction, film studies, and service-learning integration.

Awards include the UGA Service-Learning Fellowship (2019) and UCLA Faculty Fellow (2017). She has received multiple grants for research in Cuba and Eastern Europe. Teaching innovations include medical Spanish for healthcare contexts and international business communication courses. Active in professional organizations such as MLA and ASEEES, she also serves on committees for curriculum development and academic initiatives.
