Gustavo ZAMBERLAM is an Associate Professor at the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Université de Montréal. He holds affiliations with the Centre de recherche en reproduction et fertilité (CRRF) and the Réseau Québécois en reproduction (RQR). His research focuses on ovarian physiology, adeno-hypophyseal regulation of gonadotrophins, and the role of molecular pathways like Hippo and WNT signaling in reproductive processes.
Education: D.V.M. (2007, Federal University of Santa Maria), M.Sc. (2009, Federal University of Santa Maria), Ph.D. (2014, Université de Montréal). Postdoctoral training at Université de Montréal (2014-2015) and McGill University (2016-2017), focusing on molecular endocrinology and transgenic models.
Research interests include the physiological and pathophysiological roles of the Hippo pathway in bovine ovarian follicle cells, regulation of gonadotrophin synthesis, and the impact of estrous cycle dynamics on vaginal microbiota in dairy cows. He leads projects such as 'Nouvelle cible thérapeutique pour kystes ovariens' (2024–2028) and collaborates on strategic networks like the Réseau Québécois en Reproduction.
His publications span molecular mechanisms in ovarian follicle development, WNT signaling, and nitric oxide regulation. He has supervised four doctoral and master's students. Grants include funding from FRQNT and CRSNG for studies on Hippo signaling and bovine reproduction.
Labs/Teams: Active member of CRRF and RQR, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across veterinary and human reproductive biomedicine.
