Gunn Mangerud

Gunn Mangerud is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Bergen (UiB). Specializing in biostratigraphy and palynology, his research focuses on microfossils (spores, pollen, dinoflagellates) to reconstruct geological timelines and paleoenvironments, particularly in Arctic regions like the Barents Sea and Svalbard. He leads studies on Triassic and Paleozoic strata, contributing to high-resolution biostratigraphic frameworks for circum-Arctic regions.

His academic roles include leadership in university administration, emphasizing sustainable education and research in natural sciences and technology.
