Gunilla Lindqvist is an acting lecturer at Linnaeus University's Department of Health and Care Sciences within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. Her academic focus includes nursing education, chronic disease management, pain research, and eHealth innovations. She leads courses such as Analysis Methods and Independent Work in Nursing Science and supervises doctoral students in healthcare science.
Research interests include caregiving dynamics in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), patient self-care strategies for venous leg ulcers, and nursing student learning through clinical simulations. Key affiliations include the Pain Research Group and The ReAction group (focusing on resilient healthcare systems).
Her work spans international collaborations, including projects with Chinese nursing institutions (Fujian University of TCM and Wenzhou Medical University). Notable projects include developing a co-created self-care plan for venous leg ulcer prevention and evaluating eHealth services for elderly chronic disease management.
Lindqvist has published extensively on nursing education methodologies, clinical practice during the pandemic, and pain management protocols. She holds a doctoral degree from Linnaeus University (2013) and has over two decades of clinical experience as a registered nurse and midwife, specializing in geriatrics, diabetes care, and endocrinology.
