Nolwen Guilleman is a PhD candidate and research/teaching assistant in International Environmental Law at the University of Geneva's Institute of Environmental Sciences. Her work focuses on integrating indigenous knowledge into climate change adaptation strategies, particularly in mountain regions like Nepal, through the lens of international environmental law. She is supervised by Prof. Mbengue.
Education:
- Bilingual European LL.B. in Law from Lille Catholic University (France)
- LL.M. in Environmental Law, Sustainable Development & Food Security from Université Laval (Québec, Canada)
- Master’s in Environmental Sciences from the University of Geneva
Research emphasizes participatory approaches for indigenous communities in multilateral climate governance frameworks. She explores legal mechanisms to mainstream local/indigenous knowledge in disaster risk reduction policies under climate change.
