Dr. Guiliang Tang is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Michigan Technological University (MTU), where he leads research in plant molecular biology and microRNA regulation. He holds a PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Sciences (2001) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. His work focuses on leveraging microRNA technologies to enhance crop resilience and agronomic traits, particularly in fruit crops and stress biology. Tang's lab develops STTM (Short Tandem Target Mimic) tools to silence microRNAs, with applications in improving plant growth, stress tolerance, and yield.
