معرفی
Barbara Molesini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology, University of Verona. Her primary research focuses on plant biotechnology, including genetic transformation for fruit development studies, RNA silencing for virus resistance in woody plants, and nutraceutical peptide research in tomatoes. She also investigates molecular mechanisms of symbiosis between nitrogen-fixing bacteria and legumes.
- Teaching Roles: She teaches modules in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Plant Molecular Technologies across multiple degree programs, including Biotechnology, Medical Bioinformatics, and Agri-Food Biotechnology.
- Committee Memberships: She serves on the Faculty Board of PhD in Smart Agrifood Sciences, Biotechnology Teaching Committee, and other academic governance bodies.
Research Interests: Her work spans plant physiology, genetic engineering applications for crop improvement, and molecular strategies to enhance agricultural productivity. Current projects include RNA-based biocontrols and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing for parthenocarpic fruit development.
Grants & Projects: Active in research grants like the PRIN 2022 project on Cross-Kingdom RNAi and earlier initiatives on viral resistance in stone fruits.
Labs & Affiliations: Associated with research groups in plant physiology and biotechnology, and linked to spin-off companies like Microbion S.r.l. and Enerzyme S.r.l.
