Gudrun Bamberger is Junior Professor of Modern German Literature at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Her research focuses on Early Modern German literature (1450-1800), particularly 16th-century narrative, 17th-century poetry/drama, and Martin Opitz's works. She investigates editorial philology, intermedial adaptations, and knowledge transmission.
Current projects include the DFG-funded 'Hybrid Edition of Martin Opitz's German-Language Works' where she developed digital editorial methods. Her scholarship examines literary conventions and rhetorical strategies in transitional historical periods.
