Gregory Kocik is a Lecturer in Finance at the Ivey Business School, Western University (2021–present). A veteran of the Investment Management industry, he previously served as Lead Portfolio Manager for North American and Global High Yield Bond funds, and led the High Yield Bond and Leveraged Loan team at TD Asset Management for over 24 years. His career focused on managing non-investment grade portfolios, with a specialization in high yield bonds linked to Private Equity buyouts. He is recognized for building high-performing investment teams and attracting talent. After retiring from TD Asset Management in 2021, he transitioned into academia while engaging in charitable activities.
Research interests include portfolio strategy, structured credit markets, and leadership development in financial institutions. His practical expertise spans risk management, credit analysis, and team dynamics in high-stakes investment environments.
Awards include unspecified industry recognitions for his portfolio management success and team leadership during his tenure at TDAM. Currently, he contributes to finance education through teaching at Ivey, blending academic rigor with real-world investment insights.
