Greg Singh is a Professor in Media and Society at the University of Stirling's Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He has held roles including Deputy Associate Dean for Interdisciplinary Research and is currently Programme Director for Digital Media. His academic journey spans over two decades across UK institutions, with a focus on interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
His research interests span Media and Cultural Studies, Film Theory, and Digital Media Ethics, with recent emphasis on Environmental Humanities, Science and Technology Studies, and Jungian Psychology. Key areas include mental health in media contexts, the ethics of connectivity, and the intersection of media with environmental issues such as permaculture and the Anthropocene.
Singh has led or contributed to significant research projects, including the EPSRC-funded Data Commons Scotland (2019–2022) and the Leverhulme-funded Waste Stories (2021–2024). He also co-directed the RSE Research Network Life in Data (2017–2019). His current work explores Slow Television and greenspace’s salutogenic effects on screen.
He is affiliated with the Research into Information, Surveillance and Privacy (CRISP) group and contributes to interdisciplinary networks like the Life in Data initiative.
