Greg Munno is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Magazine, News and Digital Journalism department at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University. Prior to academia, he spent 13 years as a reporter and editor at the Syracuse Post-Standard and Syracuse.com. He holds an executive master of public administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School and a Ph.D. from the Newhouse School. His professional experience includes roles as a research assistant professor at the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) and editorial assistant for the journal Communications Research. His work bridges journalism practice with academic research, emphasizing data-driven storytelling and media ethics.
Education: PhD in Journalism (Newhouse School), Executive MPA (Maxwell School).
Research interests focus on the intersection of digital journalism, government transparency, and media innovation. He has contributed to initiatives promoting ethical reporting practices and the application of data analysis in newsrooms.
