Jon Glass is a Professor of Practice in Magazine, News, and Digital Journalism and the Executive Editor of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. With over three decades in digital news, he focuses on media website development, social media, and innovative storytelling. He teaches courses like Digital News & Innovation and leads student-run platforms like TheNewsHouse.com.
He holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Florida. His research and projects address contemporary issues such as U.S.-Canada relations, marijuana legalization, and social inequity in Central New York. Glass has developed school-wide reporting initiatives and collaborates with industry partners to amplify student work.
Since 2007, he has held roles including Collaborative Media Room General Manager at Newhouse and Online Content Director at PalmBeachPost.com. He joined the Newhouse online M.S. program faculty in 2015, teaching Social Media for Communicators.
