Dr. Greg Carr is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Afro-American Studies at Howard University, with an adjunct role at Howard School of Law. He holds a Ph.D. in African American Studies from Temple University and a J.D. from Ohio State University College of Law. His work focuses on curriculum development, cultural pedagogy, and African diaspora studies. He co-founded the Philadelphia Freedom Schools Movement and designed Philadelphia’s mandatory African American History curriculum. Carr has lectured globally and appeared in prominent media outlets like NY Times, Washington Post, and NPR.
